Overview:
At Well Equine we understand the benefit of Welfare Provision and have experience of working along side partner organisations to ensure the welfare of working equines and equestrian athletes all over the world.
Dean Bland BA(Hons) DipWCF(Hons) GradDipELR(RVC) Dip.Ed MAFA
Dean Bland is a Farrier with over twenty years experience. His working life reflects his interests, including Farriery, Training and Welfare Consultancy.
As a Farrier he works with horses with specific needs: competition horses; horses with conformational and lameness issues and horses referred to him by other para professionals, working as part of an holistic approach to equine welfare and equestrian performance.
As the founder/owner of the welfare consultancy company Well Equine Ltd he helps equine organisations and individuals to support the lives of working equines around the world through research, development and education. Organisations including: The British Equestrian Federation, World Horse Welfare, Redwings Horse Sanctuary, The British Horse Society and The British Farriers and Blacksmiths Association.
In 2016 he joined equestrian athletes, working as part of the Equestrian Support Team at the Rio Olympics under the Olympic and FEI flag. In 2017, he was awarded the CEVA Animal Welfare Awards Volunteer of the Year, and the British Horse Society Welfare Award in recognition of his work supporting equine and human welfare and wellbeing around the world.In 2018 he joined the team at Hereford School of Farriery, working as a part time lecturer to support the development of Farriers in the UK.
